Access Statement For The Glebe Country House Bed & Breakfast Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home based 5 bedroom bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival • The main train station is 10 minutes away by car. • The nearest town is 3 miles. • There are several local taxis. We can make a booking for you. • We have a basic web site. • You can contact us by phone or e-mail. • Accommodation only suitable for guests with mobility impairment/visual/hearing impairment who are accompanied.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities • On arrival to the property there is a white entrance gate. This is kept closed for pet /guest safety and security. • There are no marked parking bays but there is ample room for all cars and larger vehicles. • The surface is level flat and gravel. • The contact phone number is displayed on the house sign and signs have reflective lettering. • There is a bell to allow access. • We can assist guests with luggage. • The front entrance is next to the parking area. • There is security lighting to the house and entrance.

Main Entrance & Reception • There are two steps to the front door 1.70m apart and 14cm high. • The door is 1.07m wide and heavy! • The front door is always locked but we have a bell pull and key pad system of entry when guests have booked in. • The reception area is 7.50m by 3.00m • There is seating available in the reception area. • The dining room and office are located off the reception area, as are stairs to the first floor. • The floor covering is close pile carpet.

Public Areas - General (Internal) • Flooring to the public areas is short pile carpet. • The breakfast room is on the ground floor • Stairs to the first floor lead off the reception area. There are 8 steps to a curve to the left on the stairs with 3 steps, then 5 steps to a small landing, then to the left 7 more steps to the upstairs landing area. • The stairs are 15cm high, 28cm deep and 92cm wide. • The landing area measures 3m x 3m. There are 3 bedrooms off this landing. • Off the landing is a corridor leading to 2 further bedrooms and 2 private bathrooms. The corridor measures 4.4m x 1.27m, then 3 steps down with grab rail to the left. Steps measuring 15cm high, 26cm deep and 1.27m wide. The remaining corridor measures 5.5m x 1.27m. • Lighting to the public areas is by ceiling lights and table lamps, giving subdued lighting at night.

Public Areas - WC • Bedrooms are en-suite or private bathroom. There is no public WC available.

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe • Breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the ground floor. • Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request. • Tables have underspace of 70cm and are 74cm high with a surface measurement of 75cm x 75cm. They all have a centre pedestal. • Lighting is by table lamps. • There are arm chairs located at the far end of the breakfast room.

There is remote controlled TV with freeview channels. • There is a large sofa bed in this room and 2 other chairs, one with arms. • There is an en-suite bathroom. • Bedroom 2 • Door width is 83cm. • Flooring is close pile carpet. • Lighting is by table lamps controlled by a main switch. • This is a large room with a standard double bed. • There is 1.9m space at the end of the bed, 1.4m to one side and 40cm to the other side of the bed. There is close pile carpet. • Lighting is by table lamps controlled by a main switch. • This a twin bedded room. • Bed height is 50cm. There is 1.5m space to the end of the beds, at least 55cm to the sides of the beds and 18cm between the beds. • There is a cordless kettle and remote controlled TV with freeview channels. • There are 2 chairs in this room, one with arms. • This room has a private bathroom (not en-suite) • Bedroom 4 • Door width is 78cm. There is close pile carpet. • Lighting is by table lamps controlled by a main switch. • This is a double bedded room. • Bed height is 58cm. There is at least 1.5m space at both sides of the bed and 1m at the end of the bed. • There is a cordless kettle and remote controlled TV with freeview channels. • There are 2 armchairs. • This room has an en-suite bathroom. • Room 5 • Door width is 78cm. There is close pile carpet. • Lighting is by table lamps which are controlled by a main switch. • This room has a double and single bed. • Double bed height is 55cm, single bed height is 50cm. There is at least 80cm space at the sides of the double bed and it can be moved to allow better access. Grounds and Gardens • We have a large enclosed garden extending to approximately 1.5 acres, mainly laid to lawn, with flower borders, shrubs and large and small trees. • There is a sunken area of grass in the front garden accessed by 6 steps and sloped lawn. • There are benches for guest's use. • There is kenneling available for guest's dogs if necessary.

Additional Information • Mobile phone reception is not always good here! Access to a land line is available on request. • There are 2 exit doors to the front of the house and 1 to the rear. Exit routes are clearly outlined in room information. • We are a no smoking building. • Medication/food etc can be stored in our main fridge on request.
